ERCOL recommended a local upholster to refurbish my ERCOL furniture. Unfortunately the recommended company failed completely to meet any of my expectations. At a cost of almost £3000 I was left with a disaster, a beautiful suite of furniture almost ruined. I opted to try again this time with PLUMBS who exceeded all my expectations both in terms of the sales experience and the quality of craftsmanship of the local representative. I would be quite prepared to expand on my comments, I have kept examples of the poor product offered by the ERCOL recommended upholsterer.

The initial visit was very well done, informative, pleasant and unpressuring. The quality of the work was excellent and I was delighted with the end result. The removals men got a bit flustered squeezing the sofa down the narrow stair (which mattered less as it was to be re-covered), but then oddly the same guys brought it back & whisked it back up the same stairs with ease & grace in two seconds.

Expensive but excellently done - more than as good as new (they stripped the sofa back to the frame) - & the new fabric looked great (& they sent me a swatch in the meantime to remind me what I'd chosen).

The 'Welcome' pack Plumbs sent after our initial interest gave a very good idea of the quality of furnishing fabric and workmanship we could expect if we placed an order. The Representative was knowledgeable and helpful when she visited. The biggest surprise was the speed with which the order was executed and our furniture returned. Excellent workmanship. We would certainly recommend the company, and have handed the DVD to friends already.

From the first visit from Ricky through to delivery the service was friendly, attentive and no problems at all. I am delighted with the final result and very pleased with the 'offcuts' that were included which enables me to make 'shoulder' covers. I would definitely recommend Plumbs to anyone - I can now keep my chair and sofas for another 20 years!
