G-Plan (Re-upholstery, Repair & Restoration)
As with many UK furniture manufacturers that have been trading since the mid-1900’s, there are many pieces of furniture that are now in need of re-upholstering. Their strong and sturdy frames will last far longer than the upholstery, but with years of wear the fabric, springs & stuffing will need repair at some point
We really enjoy seeing classic styles of furniture coming into our workshops from companies like G-Plan, who made some iconic and in their day contemporay furniture, which would not look out of place in todays modern décor.
Our consultants are fully qualified to identify G-Plan styles and our upholsterers are very familiar with the way they are built. Having this understanding enables Plumbs to offer you the best service and guaranteed crafstmanship when restoring your furniture to is former glory.
About G-Plan
website: www.gplan.co.uk
G-Plans heritage dates back as far as 1898, when Ebenezer Gomme first opened his factory. However, it wasn’t until 1953 that his Grandson Donald Gomme, started manufacturing furniture under the brand G-Plan.
Throughout the 60s and 70s G Plan became an iconic brand, setting the tone for British furniture making. Their contemporary designs broke away from the conventional to embrace more colourful designs and to take the daring steps in selling sofas withour matching chairs.
Over the years the business has grown to become one of the UK’s biggest upholstery manufacturers, and to this day G Plan continues to have an excellent reputation for quality and comfort.
Plumbs can also provide loose covers for G-Plan furniture as well as re-upholstery.
