Ercol are well renowned for their distinct designs of curvaceous show wood frames. Expertly crafted in a state-of-the-art factory, their exposed wooden framed ranges are mostly carved from North American elm, European ash, beech, oak and walnut. All felled from naturally regenerative forests.

Plumbs upholsterers really enjoy seeing Ercol furniture coming into our workshops as the frames are a great pleasure work with, and with such a vast range of fabrics, we have something to suite any style of Ercol sofa or chair.

Ercol’s heritage dates back to 1920, when it was established in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, as Furniture Industries by Lucian Ercolani. Part of their commercial success was down to perfecting the technique of steam bedding wood in large quantities, which allowed them to start mass producing furniture.

In 2002 Ercol moved to a new purpose-built facility in Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire.

This facility has won a number of awards for its architecture, design and environmental features. The building's heat and hot water is provided from wood waste, whilst the company does not use solvent-based stains and lacquers, instead using the more environmentally friendly water-based versions.

Plumbs can also provide loose covers for Ercol furniture as well as re-upholstery.
