These beautiful antique style chairs were looking a little tired but with such beautiful frames, it is a delight that this customer has chosen to breathe new life back into them by re-upholstering. This fabric from the prestige range has been used in 2 colours – one shade for two of the chairs and a different shade for the other two.

This particular order is interesting not so much for the process of reupholstering it, but for the complex shape of the sofa and the rather unusual pouffe. It also shows how a different effect can be created by using a second fabric choice on one item of furniture In this case, three fabrics are used; the stripe on the pouffe, a plain chenille fabric for the sofa frame and then a colour matched brocade pattern on the seat and back cushions.

With twin drop arms this sofa is fairly unusual. The drop arms are held up with quite ornate wooden carved rope holders. To complete the order there was a matching Louis XV style dining chair and large footstool. This was an enjoyable task for the re-upholsterer and the end result was superb with a very happy customer who agreed to be a model for our website!

This pair of images just shows the absolute transformation that can be achieved with even the most damaged pieces. This chair caused looks of disbelief in the reupholstery workroom when it came in. However the reupholsterers proved yet again that they really can transform any piece of furniture.
