Step 1 – £90 from the antiques centre.
Step 2 – Following strip down of the old fabric and stuffings, the arms are covered with hessian base fabric followed by foam and dacron. The layers are built up to recreate the previous shape.
Step 3 – The same process is used for the seat base. This beautiful old chair really is going through a complete transformation
Step 4 – A new hessian back will provide strong support for the outer cover when it is applied. To get the finishing just right, careful attention to detail is needed.
Step 5 – Colour matched braid ensures a perfect finish between the final fabric and exposed wooden parts of the chair.
Step 6 – Finished braid work
Step 7 – The finished article back in the home. A truly beautiful piece of furniture and a spectacular renovation
