Step 1 – The chairs arrive in the workshop. Beautiful frames but tired looking fabric.
Step 2 – The fabric and braid give a clue to the age of these chairs. Possibly 1930s...traditional tacks are used for the braid rather than the more modern studding effect.
Step 3 – Some filling in and touching up was required on one of the frames where a small piece was missing.
Step 4 – Traditional materials are used on this traditional job to ensure the end result is in keeping.
Step 5 – The frames are checked as with any other re-upholstery order
Step 6 – With the webbing replaced and new stuffing fitted the first top cover goes into position. The art of getting the stripes to line up correctly is made more challenging by the seat curve.
Step 7 – Close up of the alternative colour used. In this order two colours were used – two chairs done in each.
Step 8 – The end result. Four beautiful old dining chairs ready to be wrapped for the return home.
Step 9 – Plumbs will call to arrange a suitable time for delivery. The job is only considered complete after delivery when we call you to make sure you are completely satisfied.
